Sweetwater Farms Riding School was established in 1985. As one of the largest riding schools in southern California, Sweetwater Farms is dedicated to personal attention and quality instruction. We have a large H/J lesson program, and we also offer western and trail lessons. Roberta Jackson, owner of Sweetwater Farms says, "what we hope our lessons can offer you is a FUN recreation, that teaches you the skill of riding, and mostly, great life lessons such as confidence in yourself, compassion, patience, and goal-oriented solutions. For young people, being involved in riding horses is unlike any other activity or sport."
"They are teamed with an animal of massive size and strength in which they learn to understand and respect. They learn to become a team. It's the same situation when I see adults who come to ride, there really is no difference. The relationship between horse and rider is ageless, for example, I look at any adult woman caring for her horse or beaming with joy after jumping her first jump, and I see a happy little girl. Horses can bring out the kid in all of us because not only are they fun, they are mindful teachers."

With Stable Management Lessons, beginners are taught the basics of handling, grooming, and tacking up a horse.
Private lessons will start the beginner on their way to learning basic riding skills.
Our Group lessons progress the student on to becoming a confident rider.
Lessons for the advanced student teaches the rider to become a well skilled rider.
For students with owned or leased horses, Show Training is available. Show training offers the challenge of competition and sportsmanship. Shows provide a fun atmosphere where students learn the essentials of teamwork, decision-making, and good horsemanship.
